My favorite holiday meal is mashed potatoes and gravy. Actually, mashed potatoes and gravy is good all year round. Sometimes I just crave a big bowl of creamy, garlicky mashed potatoes smothered in vegan gravy… Anyone else? No? Just me?
Well this vegan gravy is super easy and dang good. The Better Than Bouillon No Chicken Base and poultry seasoning really bring that traditional gravy flavor in a new vegan way.
Whip up this easy recipe for your next holiday gathering… or to fulfill that mashed potato & gravy craving if you’re like me!




Ingredients
- 3 tbsp vegan butter
- 6 tbsp flour
- 3 cups of water
- 1 tbsp Better than Bouillon No Chicken Base
- 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Add the bouillon to the water and mix until combined.
- Heat a medium sauce pan over high heat. Add butter and 3 tbsp of flour. Whisk for a few minutes until a roux forms.
- Pour the water mixture in and whisk to combine.
- After 10 min, add the remaining 3 tbsp of flour, poultry seasoning, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- After another 5-10 minutes, the gravy should thicken to a desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and enjoy over creamy mashed potatoes.*
Notes
*To reheat the gravy, add a little bit of water or non-dairy milk then microwave. Mix in water or milk until it reaches desired consistency.
